ALAMEDA, Calif. – Maurice and Sophie Conti are awarded the Certificate of Valor by Vice Adm. Manson K. Brown, Coast Guard Pacific Area commander, Nov. 15, 2011, for their courageous rescue of three mariners off the coast of Figi in 2008. The Conti’s were sailing with their two young children when a “may day” call was heard over their VHF radio.
