COAST GUARD PORT SECURITY DETACHMENT TO RETURN HOME FOR HOLIDAYS
COAST GUARD ISLAND, ALAMEDA, Calif., -  Media are invited to attend a family and friends welcome home ceremony Saturday afternoon and a military ceremony Monday morning for members of  Coast Guard Port Security Unit 312 deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba since June.

Nearly 100 family and friends of the 55-member port security detachment, comprised mostly of Coast Guard reservists from around the Bay Area, will greet the returning service members at the Coast Guard Air Station in San Francisco, CA.

WHAT: Homecoming after six-month deployment to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
WHEN: (Family and Friends Ceremony) Saturday, December 9th @ 1:30 p.m. and (Military Ceremony) Monday, December 11th @ 10:00 a.m.
WHERE: Coast Guard Air Station San Francisco, 1020 North Access Road, San Francisco, CA 94128

The Pacific Area Port Security Unit Detachment's primary responsibilities while in Cuba included creating and maintaining comprehensive security measures for waterborne and shore side facilities, monitoring and protecting critical shore side infrastructures, and providing escorts for transiting US Navy, Coast Guard, Cuban and commercial vessels.
