Coast Guard Conducts Airlift Off Humboldt Coast

MCKINNLEYVILLE, Calif.- The Coast Guard airlifted a 44-year-old male from a fishing vessel roughly 100 miles northwest of here Friday.

Shortly after 9 a.m., Coast Guard Group Humboldt Bay received a report from the 95-foot fishing vessel Dalena of a crewmember suffering from medical complications.  At the time of the report, the vessel was 120 miles offshore.

A HH-65 Dolphin helicopter was launched from Air Station Humboldt Bay to transport the man, and a C130 aircraft was launched from Air Station Sacramento to provide support.

The helicopter crew hoisted the man and transported him to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was treated and released.
