Turner Cut Resort Dock Fire Extinguished

STOCKTON, Calif. -- A boat fire at the Turner Cut Resort near Stockton was contained early this morning.

At 1:30 A.M. on October 8th, the Coast Guard received a report of a boat fire at the docks of the resort that damaged at least six boats, including several that sank at the dock.  The Stockton Fire Department was called on scene to extinguish the fire.  Coast Guard pollution investigators have been on scene since 4 AM, October 8th, and have observed approximately 500 gallons of oil in the water.  The Coast Guard is working with Parker Diving, an environmental clean-up company, to mitigate the impact of the spill.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
