Coast Guard Island To Celebrate Black History Month

WHO:  Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific Area.

WHAT:  Media are invited to attend Coast Guard Island's Black History month event here.  This year's theme is Carter G. Woodson and the origins of multiculturalism.  Coast Guard Petty Officer First Class Felton Coley is scheduled to speak on the background of Black History Month and the accomplishments of Dr. Woodson. Coley has been speaking about Black History Month education and multiculturalism for the past four years. He is an electronics technician assigned to the intel division here. 

WHEN:  Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008.  The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.

WHERE:  Point Welcome Room, Coast Guard Island, Bldg. 4, Alameda Calif., 94501.

Media interested in attending the event should contact the pacific area public affairs office no later than 9 a.m. tomorrow.
