UPDATE: Power Lines Still in Sacramento River

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Port of Sacramento notified Coast Guard Sector San Francisco that one or more power lines that were severed last night due to an incident involving a crane, barge and tugboat, are still in the Sacramento River one mile southwest of the Port of Sacramento.  The power lines should be removed and repaired by 5 p.m. today. Coast Guard Vessel Traffic Service reports that there is no commercial ship traffic scheduled to transit the area of the downed power lines until Saturday Feb. 16th.  The Coast Guard has issued a radio Broadcast Notice to Mariners to warn boating public and continues to investigate the cause of the incident.
