Coast Guard Training Center Petaluma to Welcome New Commanding Officer
WHO: Captain Brian Marvin, who is being reassigned to Coast Guard Forces Command in Alameda, Calif., will be relieved by Captain Christopher Hall, who is coming from Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, DC. Rear Admiral Daniel May, U.S. Coast Guard Director of Reserve and Training, will preside over the ceremony.
WHAT: The U.S. Coast Guard will appoint a new commander for Training Center Petaluma, where the Coast Guard's proud new Chiefs, cooks, medics, storekeepers, yeomen, as well as information technology, electronics, and operations specialists are trained.
WHEN: Friday, August 8, 2008 at 10:00 a.m.
WHERE: U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Petaluma, 599 Tomales Rd., Petaluma, Calif.
TRACEN Petaluma Facts: Captain Marvin's 4-year command assignment was the longest period that any Army or Coast Guard Commanding Officer has ever served "Two Rock" in its 65 year history. Accomplishments during the past four years include the training of 18,000 sailors and establishment a state-of-the-art training facility for crews manning the Coast Guard's newest cutters.
