Bay Area Coast Guard prepares for Fleet Week SAN FRANCISCO - Coast Guard units from the San Francisco area and southern California, in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies, continued making preparations today for Fleet Week 2008. Canine units attached to Maritime Safety and Security Teams from Alameda, Calif. and Los Angeles, along with members of the Coast Guard Regional Dive Locker West, located in San Diego, conducted security sweeps today of various piers in San Francisco. Coast Guard vessels will help enforce safety and security zones around the Bay during the parade of ships and the air show.
