ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Montague D. Verone, son of Jean Veroneau of Montville, Conn., retired from the U.S. Coast Guard after more than 28 years of service in a ceremony held on Coast Guard Island here June 22.
Verone served as a Health Services Technician for the first six years of his career before switching rates to become and Electronics Services Technician during the last 18 years of his service.
During his career Verone served at a variety of shore and underway billets including three tours of duty at the Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., the Coast Guard Cutter Eagle, the Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star and Station St. Paul Island, Ala.
