Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific Change of Command

ALAMEDA, Calif.  -  Coast Guard Capt. Donald J. Rose relieved Rear Adm. Robert E. Day as commanding officer of the Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, during a change of command ceremony, Friday, here on Coast Guard Island.

Day, who was promoted to a flag officer during the ceremony, will go to take the position of Deputy Commandant for Command, Control, Communication, Computing and Information Technology (C4IT) and Coast Guard Chief Information Officer (CIO).

The ceremony was presided over by Vice Adm. Clifford Pearson.

A change of command ceremony is a time honored naval tradition, which formally recognizes the total transfer of responsibility, authority and accountability from one individual to another, and restates to the officers and crew of a unit, the continuity and authority of command.

Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific provides Coast Guard units and personnel in the Pacific Area with a cost effective support system that satisfies all logistics requirements to support Coast Guard missions.
