Coast Guard Cutter Boutwell to return home after 6-month deployment

 

WHO:  The Coast Guard Cutter Boutwell, a 378-foot High Endurance Cutter based in Alameda, Calif.

WHAT:  Boutwell returns home after a six-month deployment that circumnavigated the globe. The crew conducted joint operations with the USS Boxer Expeditionary Strike Group, which particpated in anti-piracy operations and training of foreign navies.

WHEN: July 8 at 9 a.m. on Coast Guard Island, Alameda.  Media should arrive at Coast Guard Island no later than 8:30 a.m. to gain access to the base.

WHERE:  Coast Guard Island, Alameda.  All media interested in attending must RSVP and be placed on the media guest list to attend the event.  All media also need to have an official press ID or government photo ID as well as current registration and insurance to access Coast Guard Island.

MEDIA AVAILABILTY : Media are invited to embark a Coast Guard boat from Sector San Francisco and view the Boutwell as it transits underneath the Golden Gate Bridge. Seats on the boat will be given on a first-call basis.  Interested media need to call Pacific Area public affairs for further information.
