Coast Guard searching for overdue Moss Landing fisherman

 

SAN FRANCISCO - The Coast Guard is searching the waters near Monterey Bay today for Weston Paul Mayer, after his girlfriend reported him overdue from a day fishing trip out of Moss Landing, Calif.

The Coast Guard received the report at 11:50 p.m. Aug. 20, that Mayer had not returned from his fishing trip after departing Moss Landing at 7a.m. Thursday. 

An HH-65 Dolphin Helicopter from Air Station San Francisco and a 47-foot motor lifeboat boat from Station Monterey conducted searches Thursday night with no signs of distress located.  The search resumed this morning with the rescue helicopter and rescue boat. An HC-130 Hercules Aircraft from Air Station Sacramento and an HH-65 Dolphin Helicopter from Air Station Los Angeles are enroute to join in the search.
