EUREKA, Calif. – The Navy League of the United States, Council 440 will be holding a memorial service for fallen Coast Guardsmen Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 at 1 p.m. on Woodly Island, by “The Fisherman.” The memorial service is an opportunity for local Coast Guard personnel, along with the local community, to pause and remember local Guardians that have lost their lives in the line of duty. The media and public are invited to attend the memorial. The Navy League of the United States is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating citizens about the importance of sea power to U.S. national security and supporting the men and women of the sea services and their families.
