Coast Guard to conduct firefighting exercise near Alameda Point

 

WHO: U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Area Training Team and Coast Guard Cutter Tern.

WHAT: U.S. Coast Guard will be conducting waterborne firefighting drills as apart of an annual certification for patrol boats.  The training team will set fire to a small boat used for firefighting drills and Tern will respond with fire suppression agents. 

WHEN: Friday, October 2, 2009 between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m..

WHERE: Point Alameda, Alameda, Calif..

During this annual certification, Tern crew members are expected to effectively complete a series of drills and scenarios in an effort to hone their damage control, navigation, engineering, and seamanship skills.
