SAN FRANCISCO -- Crewmembers from Coast Guard Station San Francisco teach Sea Scouts proper techniques for firefighting, cold water survival, shooting off flares, damage control and dewatering at the 15th annual Safety at Sea training held at Coast Guard Sector San Francisco on Yerba Buena Island Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009. Carl Shellhorn, skipper of the Sea Scout ship Chaser, describes the training that Sea Scouts from Southern California, Utah, and the Bay Area attended. There were 300 participants and 23 vessels involved the two-day training.
