Coast Guard Airlifts for Tsunami Effort

U.S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Paul Thomas, from Barbers Point, HI., makes his third attempt of trying to get spilled rice out of the rollers of the Barbers Point, HI., C130 airplane, January 21, after delivering over 29,000 pounds of rice to Banda Aceh the day before. On January 21, the two Coast Guard C130 airplanes which are deployed to Southeast Asia loaded 40,000 pounds of emergency food, malayria pills, and tents to the tsunami aid distribution point of Medan, Indonesia, as the Coast Guards effort to bring aid to tsunami victims continue, they are flying daily missions to various distribution points in Southeast Asia.
