Coach John Wooden for Kids "Inch & Miles" Festival to be held on Coast Guard Island

Announcing Coach Wooden for Kids "Inch & Miles" Sportsmanship Tennis Festival on Saturday, 12 June 2010, noon-1400 on Coast Guard Island at the Tennis Courts!  Please arrive by 11:30 a.m.  This great event is for Coast Guard children ages mainly 6-11 yrs old. There's room for 20-40 kids.  No tennis experience is needed.

WHAT: Harper for Kids and the U.S. Coast Guard are scheduled to hold an inaugural festival on Coast Guard Island in Alameda, Calif. The free festival is for children of Bay Area Coast Guard families and is based on the philosophy of the recently deceased, legendary UCLA coach John Wooden.

WHEN: Saturday, June 12, Noon to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Coast Guard Island, Alameda, Calif. (The tennis courts are located along Wakefield Drive.)

WHO: Children ages 6-11 years old of Bay Area Coast Guard families.

AUDIO/VISUAL: The children will engage in interactive tennis games and drills. Each child will receive a sportsmanship pledge card and Inch & Miles Sportsmanship Tennis Festival T-shirt. Chipotle Mexican Grill at Alameda Towne Center will provide lunch for participants after the festival.
