Coast Guard Island hosts Coach John Wooden for Kids "Inch & Miles" Festival

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- Harper for Kids and the U.S. Coast Guard held a free, inaugural festival on Coast Guard Island Saturday, June 12, 2010.

The Coach Wooden for Kids "Inch & Miles" Sportsmanship Tennis Festival was held for children of Bay Area Coast Guard families, and was based on the philosophy of the recently deceased, legendary UCLA coach John Wooden.  The children engaged in interactive tennis games and drills. They also received a sportsmanship pledge card and T-shirt.
