Coast Guard responds to report of pollution near downed plane

SAN FRANCISCO – The Coast Guard is responding to a report of pollution in the Redwood Shores Lagoon at approximately 12:30 p.m., today.

Coast Guard Sector San Francisco received notification that pollution had been spotted near the plane crash at Redwood Shores Lagoon near San Carlos, Calif., and immediately deployed the Incident Management Division to the incident.

The IMD is comprised of pollution responders who will investigate and evaluate the size and type of the pollution.
